Length wise it fits very true to size in my men's size 9. However, like the rest of the Endorphin series, there is a nice amount of volume in the toe box, making it accommodate relatively nicely.

The Pro 2 upper is a single layer and thin mesh upper that is quite snug, yet accommodating, from the heel to midfoot and stays somewhat narrow to the forefoot. But before we get to those, let's do a general description.
#Saucony endorphin speed pro update#
Nathan: The primary update for the Endorphin Pro 2 is the upper and fit, and there are some mild noticeable changes. So those looking for a triathlon race shoe may also be happy here. The mesh is very airy and dries fairly quickly. There is a mild toe guard that has not caused any problems. I have run a few miles sockless in this shoe and not had any issue. The material on the inside is comfortable. This provides additional security in the midfoot with an additional wrap over the foot. The tongue is gusseted and is locked in place very well. I still have not had to lace lock this shoe, but anyone doing races with quick turns may want to consider it. The heel fits slightly more snug and is more secure than the last version. Those sensitive to heel counters will have absolutely no problem here. There is technically a heel counter, but it is so flexible that it almost doesn't count. This snugs down the forefoot slightly compared to the previous version, providing a more race like fit. The midfoot in particular fits more snug thanks to additional reinforcements through the laces. The fit is fairly normal for a racer, but slightly snug throughout.

It will be that shoe you feel confident can handle anything the trail gives you whether you see it coming or don’t.Matt: The Saucony Endorphin Pro 2 fits true to size in my normal men's size 10. If you spend most of your running early in the morning on steep rocky trails this shoe will deliver for you. All I am saying is only Hoka One One is at that price and they actually came in oversized and overpriced and proved their worth. I am not at all passing judgement on the worth of the shoe. It is on the high end of what you find from the established big brands.

Without the Speed Roll it would just be an ultra stiff forefoot. There is a nice familiarity running with that forefoot design. They incorporate the same Speed Roll design in the forefoot that the Speed, Shift and Pro have. Plenty of stack height to take you a long way.

The midsole heights are 35mm in the heel and 27 mm in the forefoot giving you an 8 mm offset. My expectation was a solid shoe that would take me over and through just about any type of trail run. Just looking at the shoe in pictures I knew that was not going to be the case. I think the general excitement is that those shoes are so light and dynamic in feel, the trail shoe would be the same. The same foam used in the Endorphin Speed and Endorphin Pro. The first trail shoe with a PBA based foam midsole.

The final shoe Saucony sent me in the last 6-7 weeks is the heavily anticipated Endorphin Trail.
